The top two screen shots show some of the concept art and 3D models we created for use in the shareware version of Banana Warehouse. The bottom screen is from a working alpha build were we've created all of the coding for the game. We are hard at work on the game and hope to have it released in late fall of 2007.
Development Begins on our Banana Warehouse Shareware Game!
The two bananas who inhabit this little part of the web were thrilled with the hugely popular response to our Banana Warehouse widget. And when it hit the Apple website we watched our widget downloads soar beyond anything we had planned when we started making these fun little things. It was Apple's Featured Dashboard widget for five days in a row and became the 2nd most downloaded widget out of more than 1,100 widgets. It keeps re-appearing in the top 50 downloads, is remained for a long time an Apple staff favourite. Almost two years after release it's still being downloaded at the rate of more than 15,000 per month.

If you haven't visited this part of the jungle before, Banana Warehouse is a fun little widget in which the goal is to move all of the yellow crates of bananas into the yellow area of the warehouse, and all the green crates of bananas to the green area using a forklift within the time limit (that generous 75 seconds that causes people so much, err, uhh, fun!).

Due to its popularity, Banana Warehouse is the widget that we're turning into our first, full-featured shareware game! The shareware version for Mac and PC will feature such fun things as: new warehouses with ramps, conveyors and more; all new game play; four (or more) new levels including a sandbox mode where you can interact with everything in the warehouse, a level with no time limit, and an infuriatingly difficult level (for all you masochists out there); additional fancy graphics; a fully functional forklift (yes, the forks will go up and down and tip); sounds; music; and much more fun! We're hoping to release it in late fall of 2007 and it will sell for under $20.

The two chief monkeys here have all of the functioning code created and tested for the full version and are looking forward to focusing on the art and sound assets during the summer of 2007. The new screen shot on the lower left shows our "testing" warehouse (an early alpha build) where we've made everything work well and the code all nice and stable. All of our planned features are working ... online high scores, multiple warehouse levels, physics, lighting etc.
